PROJECTS CULTURAL
Vitae (1989). Creation of a theatrical show together with hundreds of students from the "A.M. De Carlo" high school in Giugliano in Campania. The initiative represents a unique example in the city panorama as the theater project saw the creation by a group of young students of all phases of a theatrical performance (script, texts, scenography, music and lights) and the involvement of a large audience with over 10 performances of the show.
Macbeth (1990). In continuity with the show Vitae (1989), the group of students enlarged to other external contributions staged an original version of Ionesco's Macbeth which was also staged at the Diana theater in Naples.
AlfaBetoTeatro (1991-1993). Together with a group of friends and theater professionals, an old abandoned garage was transformed into a theater with over 100 seats in which various theater and film festivals were organized and hosted and acting and screenwriting courses were offered.
Uqbar (1993). The Association, founded in 1993 in the Municipality of Villaricca, worked for the first years managing a multifunctional structure including a theatre, a rehearsal room and a conference room, and organizing film clubs, theater reviews, musical concerts and study seminars in the territory of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania. In this first phase the Association mainly carried out cultural promotion activities also through the publication of two periodicals, one of a philosophical - literary nature called "Uqbar - notes for the next millennium", the other socio-political called "Uqbar and surroundings". The Association has also begun to forge a series of relationships with cultural and institutional bodies, trying to initiate a common cultural policy, thus preparing the ground for a broader initiative which has seen, in recent years, the creation of a series of projects together with the municipalities of Villaricca, Giugliano, Mugnano and Melito, giving life, for the first time, to a truly common cultural calendar.
Italian Institute for European Studies (December 28, 1998). The iise, Italian institute for European studies, is a foundation established in 1998 together with the lawyer Gerardo Marotta, President of the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies. The iise is based in the splendid Palazzo Palumbo (formerly the home of the Colonna di Stigliano princes), in the center of the city of Giugliano in Campania. Structured into three departments, it was conceived and comes to life as a pole of attraction and valorisation of interests and inclinations and as a permanent training and research centre. Since 1998, thanks to the organization of hundreds of seminars and conferences, the Iise has represented a concrete opportunity for students and citizens of the province to meet the major Italian and European experts and thinkers and discuss issues of historical, political, social and scientific relevance. Numerous advanced training and professional training courses have been created and hosted in the belief that training commitment represents, together with the education of young people, the main tool for the redemption of Southern Italy. Continuous attention was paid to the problems of the territory with the organization of cultural and environmental events. Research and publications were developed which interested and concerned Europe, the Campania Region and the province north of Naples.

Higher education summer schools (1995-2000). Vast and ambitious cultural project which involved dozens of municipalities in the province of Naples (Villaricca, Giugliano in Campania, Melito di Napoli, Marano di Napoli, and Caserta (Aversa, Casagiove, Capua, Cesa, S.M. Capua Vetere, Capodrise, S. Nicola La Strada) in which, with the Uqbar association and the Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Europei foundation, dozens of summer high training schools were created over the course of approximately one week each with lessons held by internationally renowned experts on history, philosophy, work, science, law, European citizenship, etc.

IISE Library (1999). The establishment of the library of the Italian Institute for European Studies began with the first major donation by the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies of approximately one thousand texts of a historical, philosophical and scientific nature. Books and publications specializing in the history of European integration and in community and international law were then purchased and made available to citizens and scholars. Today the library is equipped with over 2000 texts, general and thematic encyclopedias, dictionaries of the various European languages, documentary material on local history and traditions. Since 2000, all the issues of some magazines have been available, including Le Scienze, Micromega, National Geographic, Sipario. The library has been recognized by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage.
Documentary exhibition on the "Neapolitan republic of 1799"(1999). On the occasion of the bicentenary of the Neapolitan Revolution of 1799, a celebratory exhibition was organized with unpublished material provided by the Italian Institute for European Studies.
European Higher Education School (1999-2002). Several editions of a European higher education school on the themes of the history of integration, citizenship and European law have been organised.
Philosophy, science and technology: a renewed alliance (2001). Ambitious cultural project, with illustrious university professors of national and international fame, with the aim of raising awareness and discussing the main scientific revolutions (relativity, quantum mechanics, chaos theory, etc.), with the related epistemological implications, of the 20th century
Courier of Europe (2002). Corriere d'Europa magazine founded.
IISE editorial series (2003), with over 15 scientific publications published by the Italian Institute for European Studies which makes use of a scientific committee and external referees for scientific publications.
English courses in collaboration with the British Council (1999/2006). Numerous foreign language courses of different levels were organised, managing to activate lessons from the British Council of Naples in the province of Naples.
Young people and Europe (2005). The project, aimed at young people between 16 and 25 years old, is aimed at raising young people's awareness of European Union issues by making them their own

they help them travel, study and work in Europe. To reach
this objective, the project envisages, on the occasion of the European day,
the organization of various activities, including a conference, a multimedia CD and an information booklet to be distributed in secondary schools in the area.
MIRABASILE (2019). Augmented Reality Museum Giovan Battista Basile aims to create an interactive and mixed reality space, usable during the MIRABASILE event in Giugliano, the hometown, in the prestigious spaces of Palazzo Palumbo in Giugliano, a 15th century building full of frescoes and decorations.
SOCIAL AND POLITICAL PROJECTS
Uqbar and surroundings (1998). Magazine Foundation "Uqbar and surroundings" dedicated to good practices and good policy for the territory.
Italian courses for migrants (2003). Two Italian courses were held for migrants coming mainly from Africa and the Middle East. In these places there is a fair knowledge of French and English which has allowed the teachers of the Institute, all involved on a voluntary basis, to be able to communicate and give Italian language lessons.
UDAR (2005-2006). The Italian Institute for European Studies promoted, together with the Campania Region, a consultation process which led to the financing and launch of an important project in favor of the local Roma communities. In particular, the project, called UDAR because "Dar" in the Romanesque language (the gypsy idiom) means "door", and therefore "U DAR" a door, an opportunity therefore for the gypsies, for the gagié, for the institutions to begin a journey on particularly difficult terrain: that of coexistence between natives and migrant communities.
Water quality monitoring (2006). TOstart of monitoring the quality of water to guarantee its drinkability in every area of the municipal territory pursuant to Legislative Decree 31/2001 (in the functions of Councilor for Technological Networks of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
The water agreement (2006-2007) The "water concordat" represents the largest operation for the recovery of economic resources for the municipality of Giugliano... 20 million euros in a few years and a great sign of civility from the citizens (in the functions of Councilor for Technological Networks of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
Amnesty Task Force (2007). The Task Force for building amnesties has been established. In 2007 there were around 14 thousand building amnesty procedures still to be processed, which prevented citizens from taking out bank loans, modernizing properties, issuing business licenses, to give just a few examples. The Building Amnesty Task Force has considerably accelerated the analysis, control and release of the thousands of building amnesty practices (in the functions of Urban Planning Councilor of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
Amnesty Task Force (2007). The Task Force for illegal subdivisions has been established with the task of supporting the administration in controlling the territory (in the functions of Urban Planning Councilor of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
Legal task force on environmental issues (2007). Establishment of a legal Task Force with the task of reporting every form of environmental crime and requesting compensation for the damage suffered by citizens, also acting as a civil party in all processes already initiated by the judiciary (in the functions of Councilor for the Protection of the Territory of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
Preliminary investigations in the Vasta Masseria del Pozzo-Schiavi area (2007). By intercepting European resources, a series of preliminary investigations were carried out for the first time to ascertain the pollution of the land and groundwater affected by the public landfills present in the area. On these sites, making use of additional community funds, the reclamation process was also started with the subsequent characterization plans (in the functions of Councillor for the Protection of the Territory of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
WMO (Observatory for Morbidity and Mortality) (2007). Designed and financed by the OMM (Observatory for Morbidity and Mortality), a local observatory, together with general practitioners, for monitoring the causes of mortality and morbidity and for a systematic study of the geographical correlations between the manifestations of some serious pathologies and the location of the most polluted sites (in the functions of Councillor for the Protection of the Territory of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania).
PROJECTS OF INNOVATION
HUB spa (2013). The first joint-stock company for social innovation was conceived and founded, with seventy members (professionals, businesses, researchers, teachers, innovators) and an office in Giugliano in Campania, in the heart of the Land of Fires, created with the aim of promoting and experimenting with coworking, digital prototyping and crowdfunding, of supporting startups and of networking, training and research with the best energies and experiences of the country and contributing to relaunching Southern Italy.
Environmental Technologies srl. (2015). Establishment of a university spinoff which aims to transfer to the entrepreneurial field, at the service of businesses and public administrations, the results of the research and studies carried out within the Departments belonging to the proponents of the Environmetal Techonologis Company in the field of purification treatment of industrial waste water and contaminated soil.
Environmental Technologies srl. (2015). Establishment of a university spinoff which aims to transfer to the entrepreneurial field, at the service of businesses and public administrations, the results of the research and studies carried out within the Departments belonging to the proponents of the Environmetal Techonologis Company in the field of purification treatment of industrial waste water and contaminated soil.
