Experimentation, training and tools for AI in Education
Experimentation
The evolution of Artificial Intelligence tools is profoundly changing the way in which technical, scientific and professional problems are addressed. For this reason, this teaching will adopt an experimental method of Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Teaching (DAIA), aimed at integrating these tools into the students' training path. The DAIA experimentation therefore intends to train professionals capable of operating effectively in a context in which Artificial Intelligence will represent an increasingly widespread tool in the research, design and management of complex systems.
Training
The objective is not to replace learning the theoretical and methodological foundations of engineering, but to develop advanced skills in the conscious, critical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence systems to support analysis, design and problem solving. From this perspective, the distinctive competence of the future engineer will not only consist in knowing how to obtain an answer, but above all in knowing how to correctly formulate the problem, evaluate the reliability of the proposed solutions and assume technical responsibility for the decisions adopted.
Instruments
During the teaching activities, students will be invited to use generative AI tools to support study, understanding concepts, developing technical calculations and verifying proposed solutions. Particular attention will be paid to the ability to critically validate the results provided by AI, identifying limits, errors, implicit assumptions and possible sources of uncertainty.
